The family and friends of Carol Lee Morrow, a member of the class of 1965, established this scholarship fund to be awarded annually to a deserving College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies student.

This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student studying to become a special education teacher.
Charles Gilroy Endowed Scholarship
Established in honor of Lesley’s Chief Financial Officer for many years, this scholarship is awarded to a student with scholastic achievement and financial need.
Charles H. Hood Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship fund was endowed in 1985 by longtime Trustee Charles H. Hood. Preference is given to students under the age of 21 in the College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies with a concentration and career interest in working with or for the benefit of children.
Class of 1964 Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship endowment was established in 1989 by class members in honor of their 25th reunion at Lesley College. The available income earned is awarded annually to an undergraduate with financial need and high scholastic achievement.
Clayton Maarten Janer ’09 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established by the family of an AIB graduate and Lesley athlete, Clayton, and is awarded to a Photography major, with a preference to a student participating in Volleyball.
Constance and Lewis Counts Endowed Scholarship
The Constance and Lewis Counts Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2001 and is awarded annually to a student who is a graduate of the adult baccalaureate program and is pursuing a master’s degree in early childhood education in the Graduate School of Education. The student should demonstrate financial need; there is a preference for applicants with interest in multicultural issues.
Daniel Katz Memorial Scholarship
Established by Myrna Kesselman Katz ’69 in memory of her husband Daniel, a cartoonist and caricaturist. Awarded to an AIB student with demonstrated financial need.
Diana Becker Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of Diana Becker to benefit deserving AEI students at Lesley University.
Donald L. Remick & Dorothy W. Remick Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established by Richard and Barbara White in memory of Barbara’s parents. Award goes to a student who has successfully completed the foundation year at AIB.
Donald M. and Sandra J. Perrin Endowed Scholarship Fund
Need-based student pursuing a degree from the Graduate School of Education. Preference for student pursuing a master’s in special education leading to a Massachusetts certificate in Moderate Special Needs.
Doris Boothby Scholarship Fund
This scholarship endowment was established in 1990 in honor of Doris Boothby, a teacher of the natural sciences at Lesley in the 1950s. Income from the fund is awarded to students of merit in need of financial assistance.
Draper Laboratory Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies students pursuing careers as math or science teachers and seeking a Cambridge placement.
Eleanor DeWolfe Ludcke Scholarship Fund
This scholarship honors a loyal and dedicated Lesley alumna of the Class of 1929 and is designated for students with demonstrated financial need.
Ellsworth H. Sherin Scholarship Fund
This endowed scholarship fund was established in 1985 with a gift from Paula and Jeffrey Stahl. The scholarship honors the memory of Mr. Sherin whose daughter, Dr. Paula Sherin Stahl, Ed. D, is a member of the class of 1968. The Sherin Scholarship is awarded to a deserving Lesley College student with a strong academic record.
Enid Lofchie Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 1982 with a bequest from Enid Lofchie for College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies students who are hearing impaired.
Evelyn M. Finnegan Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to an MFA in Creative Writing student, with a focus on children’s literature.
Frances J. Conley and Bernard J. Conley Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship will benefit a recipient that has a financial need and intends on pursuing a career in education.
George I. Alden Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship fund was fully endowed in 1989 after the College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies succeeded in meeting the terms of a challenge grant from the George I. Alden Trust. Income earned from the endowment is awarded annually to deserving students who are academically talented.

Established in 2004 for scholarships.
Grace Runnion Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1984 in memory of Grace Runnion for students in the Lesley Center for the Adult Learner. The scholarship will facilitate self development or contribute to women’s psychology, art, or spirituality.
Gwenyth Barber-Wood Creative Writing Scholarship
This is a merit-based scholarship intended to assist Jamaican nationals (first preference) or students of Jamaican decent (second preference) or students of diverse ethnic backgrounds from any country (third preference) whose writing shows exceptional merit and who have been accepted into the MFA Program in Creative Writing.
Helen Briggs Miller ’29 Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to deserving students who are pursuing a teaching career in elementary education. The scholarship fund was given by Helen Briggs Miller, a Lesley alumna from the class of 1929.
Hollis and Catherine Gerrish Endowed Scholarship Fund
This endowed scholarship was established in 1987 by Trustee Hollis G. Gerrish and his wife Catherine Ruggles Gerrish to benefit student(s) with a career interest in children’s education and aspiration for a career working with young children.
Intensive Residency Option Endowed Scholarship Fund
For a student pursuing a degree from the IRO Program in the Lesley Center for the Adult Learner.
Jacob David Monke T’03 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship in memory of Threshold graduate, Jacob Monke, will be used to provide need-based scholarship assistance to deserving students in Lesley’s Threshold Program.
Jacqueline Hart Leach Endowed Scholarship Fund
Awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and are interested in teaching children with learning disabilities or integrating the creative arts into instruction.

For deserving undergraduate students in honor of Trustee Richard Jalkut.
James and Emily Renehan Endowed Scholarship Fund
To be awarded annually to an immigrant who is the first in his or her immediate family to attend college and has demonstrated financial need. Preference should also be given to a student pursuing a career in the service professions such as social services or teaching.
Janet Senzer Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a deserving Threshold student, preferably belonging to a single-parent family.
John and Rita Crosby Scholarship
This scholarship can be awarded to any Lesley University student with financial need.
John G. Tucker Endowed Scholarship Fund
Colleagues and former business associates of John G. Tucker established this scholarship fund in 1986 to honor Mr. Tucker’s 21 years of service as Vice President for Financial Affairs and Treasurer of the College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies. Awarded annually to an undergraduate who is majoring in elementary education and has demonstrated financial need.
John W. Alden Trust Scholarship
This scholarship supports Threshold students from Eastern Massachusetts, the Cape and the Islands.
Jose Ribeiro Scholarship Fund
In memory of Lesley Graduate School of Education faculty member, Jose Ribeiro, for deserving undergraduates of any ethnic or cultural background who are first generation college students. May be either need or merit-based.
Josephine McDermott McGuire ’33 Scholarship Fund
Established by bequest in 2003 for students with an education major.
Judith B. Hoffman Endowed Scholarship For Adult Learners
To receive this scholarship a recipient must demonstrate financial need and be in the division of Counseling Psychology. It is preferably for females who have been out of school for more than 15 years and hold an interest in incorporating mind, body, and spirituality into their professional practice.

In memory of C. Robert Perrin for a disabled, disadvantaged or minority Fine Arts student who has excelled in studio & academic work.
King Scholarship
The Stephen and Tabitha King Foundation helped to create this scholarship which is intended to benefit students from Maine with an interest in environmental studies.
Linda Town Scholarship
This scholarship is intended for a deserving Threshold student, preferably from Cambridge Rindge & Latin School.
Literacy Ventures Fund Scholarship
For graduate students in the MFA program in Creative Writing who demonstrate a passion and talent for their craft.
Lunder Scholars Fund
Established in 2007 by Paula Lunder ‘59 and Peter Lunder. Awards are for need-based scholarships for undergraduate students. Eligibility: First preference is given to former Dexter Shoe Company employees and their children; second preference to Maine residents or other qualified students from New England.
Madelein Gachelin Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2000 by Laurie Gachelin Schoen ’86 in memory of her grandmother, Madelein Gachelin. For students who demonstrate financial need with a demonstrated commitment and passion for serving others and giving back to the community.
Maida Abrams Endowed Scholarship Fund
Awarded to a financially needy student with a disability pursuing a degree from Lesley, with a preference given to those aspiring to work with students with special needs. This scholarship is awarded to financially needy undergraduate students interested in working with children with special needs. Preference will be given to students who have a disability as defined by the ADA.
Margaret McKenna Endowed Scholarship
The McKenna Scholarship is a need-based scholarship funded by the endowment generously established in honor of Margaret McKenna upon her retirement as Lesley University’s President in 2007. The scholarship is intended to benefit undergraduate students who demonstrate an exemplary commitment to public service and leadership for social change.
Marjorie Truesdell Servis ’29 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship in memory of one of Lesley’s pioneering alumni will be awarded to a deserving student with demonstrated financial need, with preference given to students pursuing careers in teaching.
Mark Greenman Endowed Scholarship
This memorial scholarship will be awarded to a junior or senior with demonstrated financial need who is academically talented and pursuing a career in Human Services or Education, with preference for a student with a minor in Health who intends to work with people with physical and/or learning disabilities.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in the spring of 1968 by the Lesley community as a memorial to the late Dr. King to assist worthy students of African-American descent to continue their education.
Mary Mindess Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship fund has been established at Lesley University in honor of the exemplary service and dedication of Professor Emerita Mary Mindess spanning more than 50 years at the time of her retirement in 2012. Funds will be used to provide scholarships for students who would otherwise not be able to attend Lesley University.
Mathematics/Science Scholarship
This scholarship fund is awarded annually to deserving students with a focus on mathematics or science.
Naomi Nason Skoler Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship in honor of a loyal Lesley graduate is awarded to a deserving residential first year student who has demonstrated financial need; a high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher; and an interest in teaching English, Reading, and/or Language Arts at the elementary or middle school levels. This scholarship is renewable provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 grade point average and continues to reside on campus.
Patricia and David Squire Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2001 for a financially needy AIB student, with preference given to a student who attended the Boston Arts Academy.
Paula Starensier VanDernoot ’67 Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 2001 by Paula VanDernoot as a merit-based scholarship for student demonstrating qualities of leadership, responsibility & social awareness. Preference for student interested & involved in a variety of activities, well respected by peers and with strong career aspirations.
Peter G. Bildner Memorial Fund
This memorial scholarship is awarded based on excellence and significant promise in the MFA in Creative Writing program.
Reva & David Logan Endowed Scholarship
Established in 2000 for a financially needy photography student who has demonstrated excellence in artistic work.

Sally K. Lenhardt Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 1993 to honor the memory of Sally K. Lenhardt who graduated in 1986. She was an integral part of the Lesley community and the recipient of this award should be as well. They should demonstrate active participation in different areas throughout their years here at the University.
Securitas Annual Scholarship for Teacher Education
Awarded to College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies undergraduate students preparing for teaching careers or GSOE students pursuing an advanced degree.
SODEXHO Endowed Scholarship
Established in 1982, this scholarship fund is awarded to students with demonstrated financial need with a preference to students working in the dining halls.
Stride Rite Early Childhood Literacy Endowed Scholarship Fund
Established in 1999 for needy students from Roxbury, Dorchester, and Mattapan pursuing a career in Early Childhood Education at Lesley University. May also be broadened to education major in general.
Sue Hundley Memorial Fund for Literacy
The fund honors Sue Hundley’s work with teachers and children and serves to recognize her many contributions to the field of early literacy. Purpose is “to advance teacher professional development in the field of literacy and to strengthen children’s literacy skills.” Funds underwrite professional development scholarships for teachers and stipends for the purchase of materials for schools working to implement Reading Recovery.

Suzanne Hruska Nagler ’61 Endowed Scholarship
This merit-based scholarship in honor of a distinguished Lesley alumna will be awarded to a deserving Lesley undergraduate who is studying early childhood education.

This scholarship was established in 2001 by Dr. Katherine Barone. It is need-based for deserving students pursuing a career in Human Services, particularly for students who intend on working in under-served communities.

This scholarship was established in June of 2006 to benefit deserving Threshold students with limited means.
Wayne Brown Memorial Scholarship
In memory of the Creative Writing program faculty member, Wayne Brown, for a deserving student.
Weezie Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to benefit deserving AEI graduate and undergraduate students. The source of this funding is Elaine Fiske’s Weezie Foundation.
William McConnell Scholarship
William C. McConnell, Jr., former Trustee and Chair of the Lesley Corporation, established this endowed scholarship fund for deserving students who otherwise could not afford to attend the College of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies.
William E. Schrafft and Bertha E. Schrafft Scholarship
This scholarship supports low-income AIB students from urban centers in the city of Boston with preference given to students of color.
