Lesley University will welcome four-time Olympian Allison Schmitt as its 2025 Commencement speaker. Allison Schmitt earned 10 medals over four Olympics, debuting at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. She was captain of the US swim team—in 2020 in Tokyo, and in 2016 in Rio. Schmitt has spoken often about her challenges fighting depression and is an advocate for mental health. With an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Georgia and a master’s in social work from Arizona State University, Schmitt works to combine her academic credentials, her athletic experience, and her leadership skills into a powerful tool to help others overcome their challenges.
