Software List and Computer Information

Below is the list of all the software found on the computers in the Cambridge campus labs and classrooms. This list also gives a description of the machines located in each room.

HARDWARE

Lesley's Cambridge campuses all utilize Intel-based iMac computer workstations. These computers are capable of running a variety of applications for education, productivity, and multi-media production.
Below are the basic hardware specifications of the computer systems found in our labs & classrooms.

  • 1st Generation iMac
  • 2nd Generation iMac
  • 3rd Generation iMac
  • 13" Macbook Pro -Loaner
  • Laptop Cart (Compaq NC6400)

SOFTWARE

Software is updated twice a year (Summer and Winter) during our maintenance periods. During this time, we completely reformat and reinstall the operating system and all subsequent software.
If you are a faculty member and you require software for your course, the Labs & Classrooms office would be more than happy to accommodate your needs. We ask, however, please be advised of our software request policy.

The purchasing procedure is as follows--

  • Contact ut@lesley.edu to ensure compatibility of the software with your hardware or the labs.
  • Contact procurement in the finance office to purchase the software.
  • *purchases often pend the approval of department chairs
  • Depending on the specific software vendor, some titles may take 1-8 weeks to arrive once purchased.
For installation- since our maintenance schedule is fixed according to the academic year, we only have a small window of time in order to perform software installs and updates.
  • If you would like software included on labs and classrooms computers for the Fall Semester (Sept-Dec), all software must be obtained by June 1.
  • If you would like software included on labs and classrooms computers for the Spring Semester (Jan-May), all software must be obtained by October 1

Beta Testing occurs in the interim.

FAQ: How often are labs updated?

We update software twice a year in the middle of the Spring and Fall semesters, and we upgrade our installations twice a year, during the Winter and Summer recesses.
