Personal Growth
Personal growth is a weekly small-group
meeting led by a licensed psychologist. Students set personal goals and
work toward meeting them. This course helps students understand the
responsibilities of adulthood.
Effective Communication Strategies
This course course helps students develop
their social effectiveness with others. Emphasis is placed on developing
social perception and general assertiveness.
Understanding Learning Strengths & Challenges
Students learn about:
- Different learning styles;
- Types of learning challenges;
- Their own strengths and challenges; and
- Advocating for themselves.
Students develop an Individualized Learning Profile of their learning style, strengths, challenges, and useful strategies.
Pathways to Health
Students learn about:
- Stress in their lives;
- Various techniques for stress management; and
- The relaxation response.
Students develop an Individualized Stress
Management Profile of their stress symptoms, causes of stress, different
types of self-talk, and useful strategies.
