AdmissionsThreshold: The First Two YearsThreshold generally accepts up to twenty-four new students each year from a large number of applicants. Students apply by April 1st to be considered for September admission; there is no mid-year admission. Families are advised that the gathering of application materials is often a lengthy process; we suggest that students begin the application process as early as the fall prior to potential admission.
Student admission begins in December; thus it is best to apply well before the deadline. After the candidate's application file is complete, a personal interview is arranged for all qualified applicants and at least one parent or guardian. This required interview offers the applicant the opportunity to express her or his interests and concerns and provides the family representative(s) with a forum to discuss relevant background information about the applicant. Financial AidThere are a variety of sources of financial aid for Threshold students. We advise applicants interested in seeking financial assistance to pursue all potential sources of funding by contacting the student's local Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, a home-town bank for student loan information, and any local guidance counselor or other professional who may be able to act as an advisor. Limited financial aid is available from the college.
