The Activity Fee supports a variety of services and activities for campus-based students such as student organizations and services, social events, counseling and testing, student media, career services, campus facilities , and transportation services. Amounts vary based on enrollment status.
An assessment fee is charged in certain special education and reading courses to cover materials such as workbooks and manipulatives given to students so that they may perform assessments on children.
The College of Art and Design Department Fee is charged each semester to undergraduate College of Art and Design students. The revenue generated from this fee supports the various needs of the departments within the College of Art and Design such as the purchase of supplies and equipment and studio maintenance. Amounts vary based on enrollment status.
The revenue generated by the Affiliation Fee is used to support the services of the field placement office, field training sites, supervising practitioners, and Lesley program supervisors for students participating in a Collaborative Internship Program.
The Check In Fee is charged each semester to College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and College of Art and Design students who have not completed the online check in process via their LOIS account.
A fee of $50.00 is charged to the student's account for any declined credit card transaction. The University may require that future payments be made by check or money order.
Students who file a Declaration of Intent to Graduate will be charged a Degree Completion Fee of $125.00. The Declaration of Intent to Graduate must be submitted by the deadlines specified on the Office of the University Registrar's web page for graduating students.
The degree completion fee covers a portion of the significant administrative expenses involved in auditing your record to verify completion of program requirements; publication, design, and printing of the Commencement Program, which includes every graduate for the academic year; printing and proofing of diplomas; diploma cases; diploma postage and handling expenses; and other assorted administrative tasks. The Degree Completion Fee is due thirty days after the Declaration of Intent to Graduate is filed.
The revenue generated by the Field Experience Fee is used to support the services of the Field Placement Office, field training sites, supervising practitioners, and Lesley program supervisors.
The Health Service Fee is a per semester, mandatory fee for all students living in campus housing. The fee supports the services provided by Lesley Health Service including basic primary medical health care, mental health care, and health education counseling programs.
The Lab Fee is required for some science and computer courses. The fee supports the use of the laboratory in conjunction with course work.
Past due student accounts will be assessed a monthly Late Payment Fee of $100.00. Students who have been awarded financial aid will not be charged the Late Payment Fee on the amount the financial aid will cover. Students enrolled in and paying on a payment plan will not be charged the Late Payment Fee on the portion of the account covered by the payment plan.
If you want to dispute a Late Payment Fee on your statement send an email to email@example.com within sixty days of the bill on which the late payment fee appeared. Include the following information:
The Student Accounts Office will research your dispute and contact you within thirty days of receipt of your email with an explanation.
Students who register for courses that occurred in a past semester will be charged a $100.00 Late Registration Fee per semester. The Late Registration Fee is non-refundable.
MAP is required for most programs within GSOE and the Counseling Psychology Program within GSASS. You can check with your advisor to confirm that you need it. MAP is an ePortfolio tool that you will use to document and demonstrate learning, allowing you to provide evidence that you are meeting required state and professional standards. The initial five year subscription is created through an automatic registration process for the MAP ePortfolio account via Chalk and Wire, which facilitates the creation of your username and password. There is a one-time, non-refundable subscription fee of $150.00 associated with MAP ePortfolio use. This fee will be posted on your tuition bill. Financial Aid can be used to cover this fee.
Materials Fees are determined by the various departments throughout the University. Materials Fee revenue is used to off-set the costs of course materials such as handouts.
The Culminating Fee is charged to graduating MFA Visual Arts students for costs associated with the fifth and final residency, including the Thesis Exhibition and Final Graduate Presentations.
This one-time fee is charged to undergraduate students at the start of their first semester. This fee covers the administrative and operation costs associated with the New Student Orientation.
The PhD Continuation Fee is charged to PhD on campus students after eight semesters of doctoral study. PhD off campus students are charged the continuation fee after six semesters of doctoral study. This fee supports advising services and academic support for PhD students as they complete their degree requirements. This fee is charged to the student account upon registering in the Doctoral Study course number 9151.
The PhD Matriculation Fee is charged to PhD on campus students during the first eight semesters of doctoral study. PhD off campus students are charged the Matriculation Fee for the first six semesters. This fee supports advising services and academic support for PhD students as they complete their degree requirements. This fee is charged to the student account upon registering in the Doctoral Study course number 9151.
The Practicum Fee helps defray the cost of managing the field experience and internship courses.
The registration fee is charged to all students taking campus-based courses each semester or term. The fee supports the administrative costs of processing registrations, managing room assignments, and course scheduling. The registration fee is non-refundable and may be charged in conjunction with semester-based or term-based registration fees.
A Replacement Check Fee of $20.00 will be assessed for the reissue of a student account refund check. If you would like to request that a check be reissued please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Residency Fee is charged to students participating in residency-based programs per residency. The fee varies by department. Funds generated by the Residency Fee support the costs of meals and lodging associated with the residency.
The University will automatically re-deposit any returned checks received for payment of a student account. A $50.00 Returned Check Fee will be charged to the student account if the check is returned after the re-deposit attempt. The University may require that future payments be made by certified check or money order. Should a check be returned due to a bank error, a letter from the bank will allow us to accept personal checks and the returned check fee may be removed.
The Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF), California Education Code §94923; Title 5, California Code of Regulations §76020-76140, requires the assessment of $0.50 per $1,000.00 (rounded to the nearest thousand) of tuition charged to students taking courses at a cohort meeting within the state of California. Lesley assesses this fee on a course by course basis. This fee is nonrefundable.
The online technology fee supports the maintenance and growth of the University's technological infrastructure. The technology fee is used to fund improved access to and assistance with information technology and to fund other types of instructional equipment. This fee is also used to expand the University's online technology programs.
