Providing a safe space for student discussions on spirituality, faith and beliefs.
How do you continue on your spiritual journey in an academic environment? How can you connect with your spirit in a highly secular society? What is the connection between spirituality, faith, and religion? Why does spiritual life matter? What is spiritual life, anyway?
Spiritual Life Resources is here to help members of the Lesley Community explore these and other questions, and to assist those travelling a particular spiritual path continue on their journey. We draw on Lesley's close proximity to other institutions of faith and learning to provide resources in a variety of areas:
We provide a safe space for discussion of difficult topics of spirituality, faith, and beliefs by ensuring that all conversations are conducted in an atmosphere of open inquiry and mutual respect.
The Spiritual Life Resource Assistant is a member of Student Life and Academic Development, and is also a student in one of the graduate programs offered by Episcopal Divinity School. Catherine Owens is this year's Spiritual Life Resource Assistant. She is a part-time student in the Master of Divinity program, and is also a senior technical communications professional who focuses on using communications and technology to bring change to community.
Catherine says, "My passion is to help people with different beliefs and backgrounds enrich each other, while at the same time growing their own spiritual, intellectual, and emotional identity. I believe that we are all spiritual beings, and without understanding that, and building our spiritual foundations, we cannot effectively deal with the challenges of living in a world of constant change."
In the end only three things matter:how fully you have lived, how deeply you have loved, and how well you have learned to let go...
