Residency Certification in Elementary Education K-8 (WA)
Lesley University offers a Residency Certification in Elementary Education (K-8) to individuals with a Bachelor's degree who wish to acquire certification. This is an add-on endorsement for those holding a Washington teaching certificate with a P-12 Special Education endorsement. The program is variable credit, with a minimum of 45 and a maximum of 54 semester-hour credits and is available through the Lesley at Tacoma program.
Prior to matriculation, students must take and pass ENG 282 at Tacoma Community College and take and pass the WEST-B. Students must also have taken and passed (with a grade of C+ or better) two science courses (one with lab), two college-level mathematics courses, one social science course (psychology or foundations of education), and PE 295.
