TECHNOLOGY IN EDUCATION goals and objectives

The TIE program at Lesley University was a pioneer in the field of technology in education and has inspired similar programs at many institutions across the country. Designed and developed in 1979 by faculty with K-12 and college level teaching experience, the program has attracted hundreds of teachers each year, from Massachusetts and throughout the country, who have become leaders in educational technology in their schools and school systems. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in the application of educational technology, whether they become classroom teachers using technology, instructional technology teachers, technology directors, educational researchers, or curriculum developers. In preparing educators for the appropriate use of technology in the classroom, the program reflects a commitment to education reform and action-oriented research.
