Master of education
integrated teaching and learning through stem (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) leading to professional teacher license in
elementary education (1-6) WITH specialization in generalist stem
The Integrated Teaching and Learning through STEM program encourages teachers to be deliberate reflective STEM learners as well as becoming more skilled assessors of their students’ STEM knowledge, skills, and thinking. Incorporating research findings on how best to engage students with science, these programs integrate the teaching and learning of the STEM subjects (science, engineering, technology, and mathematics) by taking advantage of cross and interdisciplinary connections between the disciplines, as well as connections with other subject areas.
The Generalist specialization is designed for candidates holding an Initial License in Elementary Education (1-6). The program of study below will enable individuals to obtain a Master’s degree and will qualify them for professional licensure once the teaching requirements are met.
PLEASE NOTE: Beginning with the Fall 2008 semester, courses previously using the GMATH, GNSCI, and GTECH prefixes will become CMATH, CNSCI, and CTECH; numbers and content will remain the same.
Prerequisite: Massachusetts Initial Licensure in Elementary Education (1-6)
