Anne Larkin Scholarship
With the support of founder George Weiss, Say Yes to Education, Inc. (SYTE) established an endowed scholarship fund honoring Anne Larkin, Lesley University professor emerita and former director of the SYTE Cambridge Chapter, which was housed at Lesley from 1991-2008. Throughout her tenure at Lesley, Dr. Larkin's program affiliation was with the Special Education Division, and she has dedicated herself, both professionally and personally, to serving individuals with disabilities from birth through adulthood. This scholarship will be under the direction of the Graduate School of Education (GSOE) and will be awarded to graduate students who have been accepted into the GSOE's Special Education Program.
For the spring 2012 semester, two scholarships of $4,200 each will be awarded. Additional information, including scholarship criteria and application requirements, is available on the Anne Larkin Scholarship page.
Elementary Education Urban Initiative Balfour Scholarship
Individuals who are committed to teaching elementary, language minority students and English language learners (ELLs) in urban settings may be selected to become a Balfour scholar and receive a $10,000 Balfour Scholarship, which will be awarded in two equal distributions of $5,000 each. The Balfour Scholarship awards are designed to increase the number of teachers, particularly minorities, working in urban public schools. Graduate students who are accepted into and enroll in the Elementary Education Urban Initiative (EEUI), a 15-month Master's degree program leading to initial licensure in elementary education, are eligible to apply.

Constance and Lewis Counts Scholarship
The Constance and Lewis Counts Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2001. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who is a graduate of the Adult Baccalaureate program and is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education in the Graduate School of Education. Constance and Lewis Counts believe that diversity and the richness of multicultural opportunities increase understanding and enrich learning, and they are committed to help close the access gap to higher education for new Americans and first generation college students, especially adults returning to school. Dr. Constance Counts taught for years in the Adult Baccalaureate College at Lesley, and she has a long record of championing early childhood education as an opportunity to help our youngest citizens attain the foundation to pursue the American Dream.
For the spring 2012 semester, two scholarships of $4,500 each will be awarded. Additional information, including scholarship criteria and application requirements, is available on the Constance and Lewis Counts Scholarship page.
