HIGH school education
The High School Education programs draw on Lesley's renowned resources in education and the liberal arts to prepare outstanding teachers who will be highly effective educators for today's high school students. In Lesley's high school programs, our students:
- learn practical classroom skills for working with diverse student populations;
- receive a thorough grounding in best practices for instruction and assessment in their subject area;
- encounter the most current research and theory on adolescence and high schools;
- think critically about contemporary high schools;
- broaden their subject area knowledge base;
- engage actively with current educational technologies;
- conduct action research; and
- practice their new-found skills and knowledge in high school classrooms.
Master's Degree Programs leading to Initial Licensure
Designed for students who have a Bachelor's degree and wish to enter the teaching profession
M.Ed. leading to Initial License in English (8-12)
M.Ed. leading to Initial License in History (8-12)
M.Ed. leading to Initial License in Mathematics (8-12)
M.Ed. leading to Initial License in Political Science/Political Philosophy (8-12)
