MASTER OF EDUCATION IN CURRICULUM AND INSTRUCTION with specializations in literacy, elementary math, middle school math, or science--CALIFORNIA ONLY

This Master's of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program addresses substantive outcomes in teaching, learning, classroom and community equity, inclusion, curriculum theory and development, formative and summative assessment, and practical and applied research. The program is offered in a cohort-based weekend model, and consists of 33 credits of coursework (see below for details on the 30-credit version for California Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment [BTSA] completers). It is offered in the following four specializations:

Thirty-credit program for California Beginning Teacher Support and Assessment (BTSA)

Students who have successfully completed California's BTSA program will have two of the required courses waived (totaling six credits) via the completion of a reflective paper as part of a six-credit capstone course. The course, Action Research and Seminar (EEDUC 6127), is designed to integrate professional growth achieved via BTSA experience, classroom practice, and Lesley coursework. To graduate, students will complete a total of 30 credits of coursework.
