Graduate School of Education Academic Advising

My Assessment Portfolio

Welcome to MAP

My Assessment Portfolio (MAP) is an ePortfolio tool that students use to document and demonstrate learning.  Students enrolled in education programs are encouraged to collect assignments that document their academic work, provide evidence that they are meeting required state and professional standards, and confirm that Lesley University’s programs are meeting stated outcomes.

Each course in every program has at least one key assignment that is designed to evaluate a candidate's progress toward particular outcomes of the program.  The key assignment is assessed using a corresponding rubric that has been aligned to the program’s stated outcomes as well as the standards set by a state and/or a professional content organization.

The key assignment and its corresponding rubric are standardized.  All students complete the same key assignment for that course and are evaluated with the same assignment rubric.  The rubric is the same for all delivery models for the course: face-to-face, hybrid, or online.  Students complete and submit their key assignment for each course to their instructor in an electronic format (via the ePortfolio).  The instructor grades the work using both the usual grading policy for the class and the rubric.

An exciting feature to MAP is that it allows students to creatively organize academic work into audience-specific portfolios, including those for job searches, teacher certification, promotions, and much more.  With this flexibility, students are able to share portfolios publicly or with specific individuals.  Each portfolio can be made into secure websites to include in cover letters, applications, blogs, or portable media to distribute at interviews.

Student Online Orientation Course – EORIE 6000
There is a one-time, non-refundable subscription fee of $150 associated with this orientation and ePortfolio use, which students will access through the completion of their program.  The subscription may be renewed by contacting the vendor directly.  Students must register and complete the orientation course before using the MAP system.  As students work through their programs, they are able to return to this course in myLesley to review all of the resources and help materials offered.

Accessing your account
The orientation course is accessible through the myLesley Community Tab in Blackboard.  Students who register for EORIE 6000 will receive an account two weeks after the first course begins.  Account information is sent to each student’s Lesley.edu email address only.
