Where do I begin?

  1. Download Choosing a program [doc] to generate ideas and clarify your academic objectives, geographic interests and financial parameters.
  2. Complete the preliminary information form [doc] and email it to lcexchange@lesley.edu to request a MANDATORY meeting with us at least one semester before you plan to study abroad.  The more information you share with us about your interests, the more helpful we can be in helping you to structure a realistic and appropriate study abroad program.
  3. In addition to meeting with the Study Abroad Office, inform your Academic Adviser of your interest in studying abroad and begin planning the courses you might take abroad.

How much will it cost?

A semester abroad usually costs about the same (or sometimes less) as a typicial semester on campus. In most cases, financial aid is transferable to your study abroad program. For more information on Financial Aid and to check the details of your specific aid package, go to Lesley’s Office of Financial Aid. Also please take a look at our External Funding Resources information.

If you study with an Affiliated program, you will pay tuition to Lesley and be able to use both federal and financial aid and Lesley scholarships to pay for your program. If you study with a Non-Affiliated program, only your federal aid will be "portable".  These are general guidelines which may or may not apply to your particular situation.  Discuss the options with the Study Abroad Office!

What if I have more questions?

Check out Frequently Asked Questions and Application Guidelines.  And remember to schedule an appointment with the Study Abroad Office!
