  • All students intending to study abroad/away must be in good academic and personal standing at the University.
  • Students intending to go on Lesley Programs must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. These programs include

    • William de Kooning Academy at Hogeschool (Netherlands)
  • Non-Lesley programs will have their own admissions standards and application processes. These include the AICAD mobility programs.

Statement of Purpose

The Statement of Purpose should be a concise but thoughtful consideration of your goals and reasons for seeking study in this program. It should address the following questions:

1.  What are your academic and personal reasons for selecting this specific program/location (be as specific as possible)?  Demonstrate the connection between your interests and the program's academic content.

2.  How do you describe your program, what are your learning objectives, and how do you plan to achieve them?

3.  How do you anticipate this experience will impact a) you as a person b) your academic goals and c) your long term life goals?

The statement is part of the Lesley Study Abroad/Away application form and should be picked up from the Advisor for Study Abroad and Study Away and returned by the application deadline.

2 Letters of Academic Support

Most study abroad programs require the support of the home institution for a student to be admitted. The Letters of Academic Support are designed to provide evidence that the student is in good academic and personal standing at Lesley University.  These should be completed by faculty members and/or your advisor.  Please choose someone who can speak in depth about your academic abilities and any special attributes relevant to studying abroad.

This information contained in this recommendation will be kept confidential, and should be returned to the Advisor for Study Abroad/Away at 37 Mellen by the deadline.

Lesley University Internal Application Deadlines
