Programs and Workshops

Quit Smoking Program

  • Each semester there will be a 6 week group session that meets once a week.
  • The class, which is free to all Lesley University Students, will cover preparation for quitting, stress and craving management, the role of social support and relapse prevention.
  • The program includes at least one individual appointment with a Tobacco Treatment Specialist to discuss the possibility of Nicotine Replacement Therapy and/or medication assistance for quitting.
  • Please call SHS at 617.349.8222 for specific dates and time of programs each semester. Pre-registration is required.

Health Education Discussions and Presentations

  1. CAs and RAs, do you need help in programming health education topics in your dorm?
  2. Student Leaders and organizers, do you wonder who you can ask to help with health related activities and events?
  3. Faculty, do you want a health educator to come to your class to lead a discussion about certain health topics?

The staff and Student Health Service may be able to assist you. We do health education programs by request that can be tailored to your needs. Examples of topics include:

  • Nutrition
  • Exercise
  • Preventing communicable illness
  • Drug and alcohol Education
  • Smoking Cessation
  • Sexual Health
  • Sexually transmitted disease education
  • and more!

After Hours Emergencies
  • Urgent care and all medical emergencies will be cared for by local hospital emergency rooms and walk-in clinics.
  • In the event of an emergency while on campus, students should contact their Community Advisor or Campus Security (617.349.8888 or 617.491.4444).
  • In life-threatening situations, students should call 911 for an ambulance, then call Campus Security so they can assist the ambulance in finding the student. Campus Security also has a first aid kit and defibrillators available.

  • If it is after hours, there are no available appointments at Student Health Service (SHS) or you are not eligible for services, please consider the following off-campus medical options.
