internship program

How To Apply for the Academic Year 2009-20010

The Lesley University Counseling Center offers an internship program for each academic year.  Internship is open to Boston University and Smith social work students, and master's level counseling or expressive therapy students.

If you are interested, you may drop off your resume and three letters of recommendation at the Center, 3rd Floor, 23 Mellen Street in Cambridge, or you may email the information to Magi McKinnies, Director, at mmckinni@lesley.edu.  You may also mail the information to Magi McKinnes, Director, Lesley University Counseling Center, 23 Mellen Street, Cambridge, 02138.  We will review the resumes and contact those whom we plan to interview.

Please have your information at the Center by THE END OF JANUARY, 2009.  We begin reviewing resumes as soon as they are received, so it is in your best interest to submit your materials as soon as possible. If you do not have all your recommendations in place at that time, send or bring in the information you do have.

Training and administrative meetings take place weekly on Monday and Friday afternoons.  Other than these meetings, times are flexible, depending upon everyone's schedule and office availability.  Interns are required to work one evening a week.  We are not able to offer parking facilities to Interns.

If you have been an ongoing client at the Counseling Center, you will not be eligible for the internship program.

We prefer students doing their second year internship.  We will consider an unusually experienced and/or mature candidate doing a first year internship.
