Office of the Registrar
General Information for all students
The Office of the University Registrar at Lesley University provides services related to student course records and registration. We process and record grades and grade changes, course registrations, class lists, graduation audits, transcripts and requirements-completed transcripts. We store and maintain students' permanent academic records for both current and past attendees. In addition to these services, we process requests for leaves of absence, withdrawals, and changes of program and name/address.
For general information that applies to all students, please see the page links below. For information specific to on- or off-campus students; to acquire transcripts or graduation information; or to get information on student teaching, please refer to the links in the column at left.

Student/Family Requests for Enrollment Verification
For individual requests for enrollment verification (most commonly for insurance purposes) use the enrollment verification request form [pdf]. Requests using this form will be accepted only when sent by the student or a family member, and must include a signature.
Address and Name Changes
It is each student's responsibility to notify the Registrar's Office of any change of name or address, so we can reach each registered student. Make address and email changes online: log on to myLesley; choose "my account preferences"; click Edit Personal Information (address changes made via myLesley will not be displayed immediately, as updates are made manually by the Office of the University Registrar). Address changes may also be made in writing, or on the Change of Name and Address form [pdf] and faxed to 617.349.8717, or by phone at 617.349.8740. Email addresses may be changed on LOIS.
Name changes must be accompanied by legal documentation, such as a court order or marriage license, so they must be made via "snail mail". Send either a letter or the Change of Name and Address form [pdf] to the Office of the University Registrar.
Rejected Registrations
If a registration is rejected for any reason (outstanding financial obligations, lack of payment, etc.) notification is mailed to the student. The student may not attend class until the Student Accounts Office has cleared the account and she/he is officially registered.
Retroactive Registration
Lesley University policy does not permit retroactive registration. For on-campus courses, students must register prior to the second class meeting. Students registering for intensive courses (six or fewer class meetings) must do so before the course begins. Off-campus students should consult their site coordinators for registration deadlines.
Auditing Policy
Lesley students may not audit any course for which they intend to receive academic credit. The decision to take a course for audit or credit status is determined at the time of registration and cannot be changed after initial registration. Although no credit is earned for a class taken as an audit, full tuition is charged for the course. A grade of "AUD" will appear on the transcript for any course taken on an audit basis.
Student Record Security
The Registrar's Office maintains academic records both on and off premise in fire-resistant cabinets. Beginning in 1986, all academic records were put on microfilm and this security measure continues annually as students graduate or discontinue study. Microfilm records are maintained both on campus in the Registrar's Office and in duplicate with a microfilm vendor.
Veteran's Benefit Eligibility
The Veteran's Administration has approved many on-campus Lesley programs for VA benefit coverage. On-campus students should contact the Office of the University Registrar for information about VA benefits.
