Information for On-Campus/online Students
Web Registration (WebReg)On-campus/online students have the option of registering for courses using LOIS. WebReg allows students the convenience of registering day or night from their home, office, or dorm room. Students can view course status information in "real-time," add or drop additional courses and receive immediate confirmation of registration requests. This service is available to on-campus/online students with LOIS accounts. See the academic calendar for information on specific WebReg start dates and times. Walk-in/Mail-in RegistrationOff-campus students who are registering for courses outside of their cohorts may register either by mail or in person by completing and submitting a paper registration form and following registration guidelines. This option is also available for on-campus degree and certificate students. Completing the registration form accurately is crucial. All course numbers, letters, and section numbers must be exact. Registration forms can be obtained from the Office of the University Registrar or the Registrar's web site. Mail forms to: Lesley University, Office of the University Registrar, 29 Everett Street, Cambridge, MA 02138-2790. Payment must accompany all registrations. Complete the registration form and mail with payment or credit card authorization form (check/money order, American Express, Discover, MasterCard, or Visa with name, number, and expiration date on card) to the Office of the University Registrar. Any material postmarked or dropped off after the last day of the mail-in/drop-off registration period will be processed during late registration and subject to all associated fees. Please note that course registration confirmations are not mailed to students. Students are responsible for confirming registration status by accessing My Class Schedule on LOIS. Adding/Dropping CoursesCourses must be added or dropped before the second class meeting with the exception of students enrolled in intensive classes of six or fewer class meetings—these students must add or drop prior to the start of a course. Students in Lesley College and ALD programs must obtain their advisor's signature in order to add or drop courses. Courses may be dropped in person, by phone, or by mail. To drop a course by phone, call the Office of the University Registrar at 617-349-8740 or 800-999-1959 x8740. Changes may be made by telephone only if no additional charges are expected, and must be completed prior to the second scheduled class meeting. Please be prepared to give your Lesley ID or Social Security number and the course number(s) for those course(s) being dropped or added. Late RegistrationRegistration or Drop/Add forms must be completed and submitted before the second scheduled course meeting. Exceptions are students enrolling in intensive or weekend intensive classes of six or fewer class meetings. These students must register or drop prior to the start of the course. Payment must be submitted, late fees apply. Advisor Approval/SignaturesStudents enrolled in any undergraduate program must have their advisor’s signature on the registration form or advisor’s approval to access WebReg. Registration forms without a student signature and date will not be processed. AuditingWhen auditing a course, check the "Audit" box. The decision to take a course for audit versus credit status is determined at the time of registration and cannot be changed after initial registration. PrerequisitesCourses requiring prerequisites are noted in the "section information" screen in the current course information listing on LOIS. Students will not be permitted to register for courses without having taken the necessary prerequisites. Exceptions can be made if accompanied with approval by the school or program designee. Withdrawing from a CourseStudents who withdraw from a course after the second class meeting will receive a "W" grade on their transcript. ("W" grades do not affect G.P.A.) Students who drop or withdraw from courses are granted refunds according to the prevailing withdrawal refund schedule. Please note that students withdrawing from intensive or weekend intensive courses must notify the Office of the University Registrar prior to the start of the course. Withdrawals processed after the start date for intensive classes are assessed at a zero percent refund. Students may not withdraw from a course during its last five class meetings. Non-attendance does not constitute an official withdrawal/leave of absence; students will be held responsible for all related tuition and fees. Cancelled Courses and Course ChangesEvery effort will be made to notify students of closed and cancelled courses. Students should access My Class Schedule or Current Course Information on LOIS for the most up-to-date class schedule information. Credit LoadUnless special permission is granted in writing from a faculty advisor, no more than 12 credits may be taken by GSASS and SOE accepted degree or certificate students and no more than 15 credits for ALD accepted degree or certificate students during the fall or spring semester. Undergraduate students from LC and AIB who wish to register for more than 18 credits must obtain the signature of their faculty advisor and approval of the Associate Dean or the Dean before registration. Graduate degree and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study (CAGS) applicants should not enroll in more than six credits prior to formal acceptance into a program. Graduate and CAGS programs may not accept more than six credits taken prior to acceptance as applicable to a degree program. Name and Address ChangeTo change an address, log on to myLesley, select "my account preferences," and complete the online form, or phone 617.349.8740, or email registrar@lesley.edu.
