What is automatic registration?
Automatic registration minimizes the paperwork necessary to register for courses in your program. It allows the university to automate the registration procedures so that you sign one form and we take care of the rest.

How do you know for which courses to register me?
One strength of the off-campus format is completing a logical sequence of courses with one group of learners. Because you complete courses in a predetermined sequence the university knows which courses you will take. As long as you remain within your group, each semester Lesley will register you for the courses the cohort group is scheduled to study. If you wish to take courses separately from your group, see "Can I register for a course that is part of another cohort group?" below.

How do I register?
The automatic registration process is very simple. You will read and sign the Off-Campus Group Enrollment form and include your social security number or student ID number. Submit the form to your site coordinator, who will in turn send the document to the university. We recommend that you check your class schedule on LOIS several weeks prior to the start of each class to verify registration, meeting dates/times, etc.

May I still participate in automatic registration if I haven't been accepted by the university?
Yes, you may. You must begin the admissions process by submitting a signed Application for Admissions form, your $50.00 application fee, and an Off-Campus Group Enrollment form. However, it is essential to complete the admissions process as soon as possible. If you require assistance completing the admission requirements, please contact Student Care at 888 LESLEYU.

Can I drop a course? How?
Even though you have been registered automatically, you can still drop a course at any time prior to the first class meeting. To drop a course, you may contact the Office of the University Registrar by phone at 800.999.1959 x8740, or fax a signed request to change your schedule to 617.349.8717. Please provide your name and student identification number or social security number, and the name of the course that you wish to drop.

What if I fail to drop a course, but do not attend?
If you fail to notify the university that you are dropping a course you will be charged for that course. In addition, the course may be included on your transcript and calculated in your GPA. It is very important that you notify Student Care at 888 LESLEYU prior to the start of the course, if you will be unable to take an upcoming course.

Can I register for a course that is part of another cohort group?
Yes, you may. But you will need the approval of your Program Advisor. You can download an Add/Drop form or obtain one from the Office of the University Registrar. Complete the form and submit it to the Office of the University Registrar, Lesley University, 29 Everett Street, Cambridge, MA 02138-2790.

Can I withdraw from the program? How?
You can withdraw from the program at any time. To withdraw from the program, you must first contact your Program Advisor, then fill out a Program Withdrawal/Leave of Absence form.

Is there a fee for automatic registration?
Automatic registration will have no effect on the cost of the program. It is important to keep in mind that the university will register you for all of the courses scheduled in your program, but you will only be charged for those courses you attend, as long as you comply with the drop/withdrawal process.

Will automatic registration affect my financial aid?
Your financial aid award is based on the number of credits for which you are registered each semester. Automatic registration does not affect your financial aid award or the financial aid application process. Your financial aid will be affected if you take a course outside of your group, drop a course, or withdraw from Lesley University. If you have questions, please contact Student Care at 888 LESLEYU.
Students who would like to apply for financial aid are urged to apply at least 6 - 8 weeks before the start of their first course. This will allow adequate time to process your financial aid application. If you are a recipient of financial aid, you must reapply for financial aid each academic year.

How do I notify the university of an address change?
In order to change your address of record with the university simply call Student Care at 888 LESLEYU, or email registrar@lesley.edu.
