faculty how-to: LOIS

How-to information for faculty: logging on, class roster, web advising, web grading

Logging on to LOIS

LOIS seems to work best using Firefox, Chrome, or Safari.

  • Enter www.lesley.edu/lois.
  • Click "Log In;" log in using your LOIS username and password.
  • If you cannot remember your username or password click on the "What's My User ID" and/or "What's My Password" link at the lower right of the screen, and follow the prompts.
  • Help is available by clicking on the "Support" tab.

Always remember to log out of your account when finished.

WebAdvising Instructions

For advisors of undergraduate students to certify that advisees have met with their faculty or academic advisor and are approved to WebReg.

  • Enter www.lesley.edu/lois.
  • Click "Log In;" log in using your LOIS username and password.
  • Click the "Faculty" bar.
  • Click on "Advisor Registration Approval".
  • Your advisee list will be displayed, listing student name, email address, and a "Student Advised" column
  • By clicking on the box(es) in the "Student Advised" column to enter a check mark, you certify that the student has been advised and is allowed to register for classes via the online information service.
  • If desired, you may clear the check box (to remove registration authorization from a student) by clicking again.
  • Be sure to click "Submit" to update the students' records.
  • Return to Advisor Registration Approval to check that your students are cleared.

Remember to log out when finished.

Class Roster Instructions

Use these instructions to check your class roster.

  • Enter www.lesley.edu/lois.
  • Click "Log In;" log in using your LOIS username and password.
  • Click the "Faculty" bar.
  • Click on "Class Roster."

Either:

  • Enter the term information using the drop-down list box.
Or:
  • Enter the start and end dates (both dates must be entered) to define the date range.
  • Click "submit".

Remember to log out when finished.

Web Grading Instructions

For a grading scale, see the Faculty Grading Information web page.

  • Enter www.lesley.edu/lois.
  • Click "Log In;" log in using your LOIS username and password.
  • Click the "Faculty" bar.
  • Under Faculty Information, click on "Grading".
  • Select either Semester or date range; click Submit.
  • Choose Final from the drop-down menu. Select the class you wish to grade, click Submit.
  • Enter a grade for each student you wish to grade (see the grading scale for information on Lesley grades).

    -You can enter grades for some or all students on the roster.

    -If a student on your roster is graduating, there will be an asterisk next to the student's name.

    -When entering a grade of AW, you must enter the date the student last attended the course.

    -For students who never attended the course, click the "Never Attended" box.
  • When all grades are entered, click Submit.
  • A confirmation page will appear, showing only grades you entered. If you skipped any students, those names will not appear in the confirmation list.
  • You can also confirm grades by returning to the roster a second time. The grade roster will reflect all grades recorded, and the names of any students skipped will also appear, without grades.
  • If a student attended your class but does not appear on the grade roster:

    -Click the link at the bottom of the roster and record the name and grade of the student. Once the student registers for the course, the Office of the University Registrar will use this information to update the academic record.
