UNIVERSITY PROCUREMENT

Bottled Water

Lesley University has an exclusive contract with Poland Springs for bottled water. To set up an account, you must contact Bill Gray at Poland Springs. He can be reached at 508-935-3530 or via email.

Furniture

Furniture requests often fall under the central university budget. You must receive approval before ordering furniture. Please contact Kevin Murphy at ext. 8883 or via email for purchases that will paid from the central university budget.

For purchases that will be paid from departmental budgets, please contact Mike McGarry at ext. 8179 or via email.

Please include the following with the specifications of your request:

  • name of person request is for
  • department
  • delivery address
  • type and quantity of furniture required

Mailroom

The Mailroom is operated by Physical Plant. It is located at the rear of 29 Everett Street. The mailroom provides each office on the main campus with pickup and delivery service twice daily. Packages and letters may also be brought to the mailroom directly. For more information, contact the John Fitzgerald at ext. 8790.

Federal Express

Lesley has negotiated an agreement with Federal Express. To set up an account, contact our Federal Express representative, Debbie May, at 800-448-9961 x9787 or via email.

There is presently one drop box located on campus for staff use. Packages may be dropped behind the Porter Exchange building at 1875 Mass. Ave. by 6:00 p.m. for pickup on the same day.

Skycom Courier

Skycom Courier offers same day bike and vehicle deliveries throughout New England. Lesley can take advantage of discounted rates when using the service within the metropolitan Boston area and surrounding communities. Please click here to view rates in the Greater Boston area. To set up a billing account please fill out an online registration form here. Please include your department name in the customer reference field. A Skycom representative will contact you within 36 hours to establish your account. For immediate service please contact Scott Baker at (617) 732-1130.

Skycom Courier is a certified minority owned business, meeting all NMSDC certification requirements.

Office Supplies

Corporate Express is the exclusive vendor for ordering office supplies at Lesley University. An online ordering system has been established for Lesley staff.

Contact the representative of Corporate Express, Susan Datnoff at 978-557-6729 or by email to set up an account.

Stationery

Shea Brothers, Inc., located in Somerville, MA, is Lesley's exclusive stationery vendor. To order stationery and print items through an online system, contact John Hunter at 617-623-2001 or johnh@sheabrothers.com. He will place print items within an online catalog and can arrange a demonstration of the online ordering process. Please click here for information regarding the online ordering process and FAQ's. For any immediate stationery needs, there are generic Lesley University stationery templates in the catalog which can be customized for your department. They are listed under "Generic Lesley University Stationery." If these templates do not meet your department's requirements you can call John Hunter at Shea Brothers and have the items you need created. Please note: this system will still require a purchase order number in order to complete the process, but the overall procedure, ease of ordering and quality control will be improved as a result.

Travel

Lesley University has an exclusive travel agreement with Carlson Wagonlit Travel, based in Cleveland, Ohio. You may contact lead agent Silvana Miduri, or other members of the Lesley team Krissy Crosley, Mark Ferguson or Lelia (Lil) Hairston by dialing extension 5215 or 800-786-4795 or via e-mail.

The agents can assist you with airline, car and hotel reservations. Upon request, you can receive quotes for fares as well as a list of options for air travel. Standard operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EST.

All travelers should build a Travel Profile to assist travel agents in making reservations. To download instructions to complete your profile, click here. Emergency After-Hours Number

There is an 800 emergency and after-hours telephone number which travelers may access 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world. The number is (800) 786-4795.There is an additional charge for this service so its use should be reserved for emergencies only. It is advisable that travelers keep these numbers handy.

Car Rental Policy

Lesley's primary car rental company is Avis. All car rentals may be booked through the travel agents listed above. When renting a car, all insurance coverage has been included. Anyone renting a car on Lesley business should decline any additional insurance.

When renting a car, the traveler must return the car with a full tank of gas.

Please do not accept any fuel options offered by our rental agencies including the EZ Fuel option offered by Avis. Such options are not approved per the University travel policy.

ZipCar

Lesley University has established a relationship with ZipCar for faculty, staff and students. To learn more or find cars near you please visit zipcar.com/lesley

Hotel Information

Lesley University has specially negotiated rates at several local Cambridge hotels for 2009. Whether you have a meeting or conference coming up where you can expect several out-of-town visitors or just anticipate the occasional guest to the Greater Boston area, feel free to take advantage of the rates indicated below.

Be sure to tell the reservations agent at the hotel about the Lesley affiliation in order to take advantage of these rates. All rates are based on availability and may not be honored during high occupancy or blackout periods. Please click here for 2009 hotel rates (price listed is per night).

Vending Machines

Vending machines are located at numerous locations on the Lesley campus. If you lose money in a machine, discover one is malfunctioning, or would like to give product suggestions, please contact Ed Fogarty at (617) 349-8380.

Refunds are also available at the Public Safety office on the Main Campus.
