Items that need special attention:

Fluorescent bulbs (which contain mercury) should be wrapped in a replacement container or some protective covering (bubble wrap, newspaper), marked 'recycle' and contact your CA or Physical Plant to coordiante disposal.

Broken computers, televisions, all metal items, refrigerators and freezers need a work order for disposal. Please see your CA or administrative assistant for more information.

Hazardous Waste:

Most hazardous wastes on campus are those generated in the print studios and science center. Many of the cleaning supplies purchased by students are also considered hazardous waste, unless you purchase a non-toxic, naturally derived product. Try to buy only what you need, consider giving unused portions to others who can use it, look for non-hazardous cleaning materials.
