LUGLY Bike Share Program

If you are interested in getting around the Lesley Cambridge Campuses by bicycle, the Lesley Bike Share Pilot Program may be for you! Is it a simple program that allows members to use a master key as their membership tool. The key will be created to be used in any of the bike locks within the bike program fleet located throughout our campus.

Lesley Bike Share is open to all students and employees with a valid Lesley University ID and in good standing with the University. It is highly encouraged for all members to wear a self-provided helmet at all times while operating the Lesley Bike. Not following the guidelines will be dismissal from the program. BIKE STORAGE

We currently do not offer bike storage to our community members. It is open for discussion to determine the possibility of storing bikes for resident students during the winter months. Depending on available space –accessible basement areas or storage shed would be considered. Bikes would need to be registered and tagged for winter storage.

Students would have an opportunity to re-claim their bicycles during the spring semester. Any unclaimed bicycles are donated to the LUGLY Bike Share Program for re-use.

As part of our LUGLY Bike Share program, we invested in a bike stand and a basic repair tool kit. When the bike "shop" is available, community members are able to arrange a borrowing time of the space to change a tire, tighten up brakes, make any adjustments needed, etc

Remember - Please visit the campus map to view the bike rack locations throughout campus.

Transportation Benefit

Public Transportation Pre-Tax Pass:

Since parking at Lesley University is very limited, employees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation. To help defray the cost of public transportation, Lesley University (under the Transportation Equity Act) allows employees to pay for certain employment-related transportation expenses on a pre-tax basis. As you may be aware, the United States Congress recently passed The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA). This new legislation includes a change which will allow for an increased tax savings for employees participating in a qualified transportation plan between March 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. What this means for you is that your monthly pre-tax transit commuter benefit maximum limit has increased from $120 to $230. Any amount over the $230 limitation will be designated as post-tax funds and are not eligible for a pre-tax deduction. Examples of these include the purchase of MBTA passes and payment of parking lot fees associated with the commute to work. If you are interested in taking advantage of this benefit for the first time or wish to change your future orders based on the new limits, please refer to the following page: http://www.lesley.edu/hr/content/Ordering_Instructions.pdf

Anyone who is required to work approved overtime by his/her Supervisor is eligible for a guaranteed ride home. Please call Public Safety to arrange your ride at 617.349.8888.

For more information on public transportation and the pre-tax benefit, please visit the Pre-Tax Transportation Benefit page
