Loan Exit Counseling

All Stafford Loan borrowers must complete Loan Exit Counseling (also known as the Exit Interview) when they graduate, withdraw, or cease to be enrolled at least a half-time as defined by their academic program. The Exit Interview informs you of your rights, responsibilities, and terms of repayment on your loan. You may complete this requirement online or via the mail.

If you completed the requirements (Master Promissory Note and Entrance Counseling) for your Stafford Loans at Lesley University before December 11, 2008, you probably borrowed a loan through a private lender. If you completed your requirements after that date, you borrowed through the Federal Direct Loan program. Many students graduating from Lesley University have borrowed both types of Stafford Loans. If you aren't sure, please contact our office and we can help you determine which type(s) of loans you borrowed.

For an Exit Interview that will help you understand your Federal Direct Stafford Loans, which were borrowed through the Department of Education, you can use the site below. You will need to use your Federal Student Aid PIN (the same PIN you have used to sign the FAFSA) to log into this site:

If you borrowed both types of Stafford Loans, we strongly recommend that you complete Exit Counseling for both programs.

If you prefer to receive a printed version of the Loan Exit Interview form, or have any questions regarding the interview process, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (617) 349-8581 or (800) 999-1959, ext. 8581.
