Your award letterOnce your aid application is reviewed and eligibility is determined, you will receive a letter from the Financial Aid Office indicating the type of assistance for which you are qualified. A financial aid "package" will be designed for you. The assistance awarded may be a combination of subsidized and/or unsubsidized loans, grants/scholarships, and/or student employment. Most students who qualify for some form of need-based aid will be awarded a full Federal Stafford Loan before other types of grant aid and/or employment. All financial aid is to be used for tuition/fees and other educationally related expenses (including living expenses) incurred during the academic year. With the exception of loans, the amounts listed on your award letter will automatically be processed unless you notify us that you want to decline all or a portion of your award. You do not need to return the award letter to the Financial Aid Office unless you are declining all, or a portion, of your financial aid award. Important: There are additional steps you will need to take to receive any loans that are offered to you. The Financial Aid Office will contact you to inform you of additional requirements, but we suggest you familiarize yourself with the Stafford Loan process here. updated 05/13/08 | 03:35 PM
