Diversity-Related Courses/Programs at Lesley

Center For Peaceable Schools- The Center For Peaceable Schools at Lesley University provides training, resources and information to educators and community workers interested in learning principles and practices that create positive change in our school and communities.

Bilingual Education Programs- Lesley university has been training educators for nearly 100 years and we've been preparing bilingual and ESL specialists for two decades.

Intercultural Relations Program- Intercultural Relations Program is built upon a vision to promote an appreciation of cultural diversity and foster mutual respect and cooperation among people of different cultures, thus helping to lay a foundation for understanding among peoples.

Threshold Program- The Threshold Program is a comprehensive, non-degree campus-based program at Lesley university for highly motivated young adults with diverse learning disabilities and other special needs.

Journal of Pedagogy, Pluralism and Practice- The Journal of Pedagogy, Pluralism and Practice is a refereed journal published by Lesley university. The Journal focuses on pluralistic approaches to learning and teaching throughout the Life span with a major emphasis on cultural criticism. JPP&P provides interdisciplinary interpretation and analysis of educational theory and practice, including learning in classrooms, organizations and non-traditional settings.

Young Artists Program- The Art Institute of Boston has established a program to make AIB's Summer Pre-College Program accessible to talented, inner-city high school students with significant financial need. The program provides full tuition, along with an hourly stipend, to students who would not be able to afford summer courses.

duPont Lecture Series- The Art Institute of Boston's duPont Lecture Series is an annual series of artists' talks and presentations featuring well-known artists of color from around the world.

The Diversity Council in collaboration with other campus organizations hosts an annual event to celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This annual event brings together all members of the university and local communities to review their efforts to acknowledge and celebrate the important contributions of the many radically, culturally and ethnic groups represented by their constituents.
