Endowed Scholarship Funds

Here's a complete listing of endowed scholarship funds at the Art Institute of Boston and Lesley University. This list is organized by school.

Adult Baccalaureate College

Constance & Lewis Counts Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by a current faculty member and her husband, to support an adult student with an interest in multicultural education or international education pursuing a degree in the Adult Baccalaureate College.

Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University

AIB Past Distinguished Faculty Endowed Fund -- Established by AIB Board of Overseers in honor of distinguished AIB faculty, to be awarded to deserving students at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University.

Anetha Graves Trecker Endowed Scholarship for women artists -- Awarded to a female AIB student over the age of 25 who demonstrates artistic and academic ability.

Art Institute of Boston General Scholarship -- Awarded to talented AIB students.

Daniel Katz Memorial -- Established by Lesley alumna Myrna Kesselman Katz U'69 in memory of her husband, to be awarded to a financially needy art student at the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University.

Donald L. Remick & Dorothy W. Remick Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by Richard and Barbara White in memory of her parents, to support a student who has successfully completed the foundation year at AIB.

Kathleen Knight Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by an AIB Overseer in memory of friend and artist C. Robert Perrin, to be awarded to a disadvantaged, disabled or minority fine arts student who has excelled in studio and academic work.

The Patricia and David Squire Scholarship Fund -- Established in 2001 by Mrs. Squire, a trustee of the university, and Mr. Squire, is to be awarded to a financially needy student pursuing a degree at the Art Institute of Boston. Preference should be given to a senior at the Boston Arts Academy High School wishing to attend AIB.

The Reva & David Logan Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by friends of AIB, to support a photography student who demonstrates excellence in artistic work and has financial need.

Richard Moody Endowed Scholarship -- Awarded to talented and financially needy AIB Fine Art students.

William Tisdale Scholarship -- Awarded to talented AIB Fine Art students.

Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences

Graduate School Of Arts and Social Sciences Scholarship -- Awarded to a deserving student in the Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences.

Jacqueline Hart Leach Endowed Scholarship Fund -- To be awarded to deserving students interested in teaching children with learning disabilities or integrating the creative arts into instruction.

Judith B. Hoffman Endowed Scholarship for Adult Learners -- To be awarded to deserving graduate students in Counseling/Psychology with an interest in incorporating mind, body and spirituality into their professional practice.

Norma Canner Scholarship -- Awarded to a deserving student in the Expressive Therapies Program.

School of Management

School of Management Scholarship -- Awarded to a deserving student in the School of Management.

School of Education

Barbara Polk Washburn Endowed Scholarship -- To be awarded annually to a graduate student based on financial need who is pursuing a masters degree as a reading specialist.

Donald M. and Sandra J. Perrin Endowed Scholarship Fund -- To be awarded to a financially needy student pursuing a Master's degree in Special Education. Preference is to be given to those students pursuing certification in Moderate Special Needs.

Jacqueline Hart Leach Endowed Scholarship Fund -- To be awarded to deserving students interested in teaching children with learning disabilities or integrating the creative arts into instruction.

June Fox Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Criteria to be determined.

Maida Abrams Endowed Scholarship Fund -- To be awarded to a financially needy student with a disability pursuing a degree from Lesley University with preference given to those aspiring to work with students with special needs.

School of Education Scholarship -- Awarded to a deserving student in the School of Education.

Lesley College

Agnes Lindsay Trust Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established to support financially needy Lesley College students from rural communities in New England.

ALANA Scholarship -- Awarded to a deserving student of African, Latino, Asian or Native American descent.

Bessie Pappas Scholarship Fund -- In honor of a beloved mother and grandmother, the Pappas family established this scholarship, providing assistance to students with high scholastic records.

Beth Gerson Morse Scholarship Fund -- In memory of his late wife Beth Gerson Morse, '67U, Mr. Maxwell Gerson established this scholarship, to be awarded to an undergraduate student who has financial need and outstanding leadership qualities.

The Carol Lee Morrow Endowed Scholarship Fund for Special Education -- Established by a father in memory of his daughter, to be awarded to a student pursuing a degree in special education.

Carol Lee Morrow Memorial Scholarship Fund -- The family and friends of Carol Lee Morrow '65U, established this endowed scholarship fund, to be awarded annually to a deserving Lesley student.

Class of 1964 Scholarship -- Established by members of the Class of 1964 for their 25th Reunion. This fund supports undergraduate students with financial need and high scholastic achievement.

Draper Endowed Scholarship Fund -- To be awarded to a young woman pursuing math or science education and seeking a Cambridge placement.

Ellsworth H. Sherin Scholarship Fund -- In honor of her father Ellsworth Sherin, Paula Sherin Stahl '68U and her husband Jeffrey Stahl, established this fund to be awarded annually to an academically talented and financially needy student enrolled in Lesley College.

George I. Alden Scholarship -- In 1987 the George I. Alden Scholarship Fund was established for academically talented students.

Helen Briggs Miller Endowed Scholarship -- Established by alumna Helen Briggs Miller '29U. This scholarship is awarded annually to students pursuing a teaching career in elementary education.

John and Rita Crosby Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by an alumna from Class of 1972 and her husband, to be awarded to any student in need.

Karen Kalker Schotland Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by a Class of 1964 alumna, to be awarded to financially needy students pursuing a degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling or Art Therapy.

Madeleine Gachelin Endowed Scholarship Fund and Anna Schoen Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by a young alumna and her husband in memory of their grandmothers, both funds support undergraduate students in need of financial assistance, with a demonstrated commitment and passion for serving others and giving back to the community.

Maida Abrams Endowed Scholarship Fund -- To be awarded to a financially needy student with a disability pursuing a degree from Lesley University with preference given to those aspiring to work with students with special needs.

John G. Tucker Endowed Scholarship -- Established in recognition of his 21 years of service as Treasurer and Vice President for Financial Affairs, this scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in elementary education with demonstrated financial needs.

Martin Luther King Scholarship -- Awarded to deserving undergraduate students of African-American descent.

Naomi Nason Skoler Family Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by an alumna and current corporator at Lesley, to be awarded to a student with demonstrated financial need and an interest in teaching English, Reading or Language Arts at the elementary or middle school level.

Norman E. Dee Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by his wife on the occasion of his retirement from Lesley after 32 years on the faculty, to support a student who shows promise in the field of science and aspires to be a classroom teacher.

Seilers Endowed Scholarship -- Awarded annually to needy students, preference given to students who work in the dining hall.

Shirley J. Silbert Endowed Scholarship -- Awarded to a student who shows promise in the field of mathematics and aspires to be a classroom teacher.

T. M. (Trentwell Mason) White Endowed Scholarship Fund -- This fund was established in memory of Dr. Trentwell Mason White, the first president of Lesley University. This scholarship is awarded annually to deserving Women's College students.

Teresa M. Warren Scholarship Fund for Human Services -- This memorial scholarship will be awarded to deserving students with need pursuing a career in Human Services with preference directed to students intending to work in underserved communities. Teresa M. Warren served as an adjunct professor and advisor to Lesley College students before her untimely death in 2000.

Undergraduate Scholarship -- Awarded to deserving students in the School of Undergraduate Studies.

William Hearst Scholarship Endowment -- The William Randolph Hearst Foundation established this scholarship, to be awarded to young women of color pursuing teaching careers.

Other Funds

Charles H. Hood Endowed Scholarship Fund -- Established by long time Trustee Charles H. Hood, this scholarship is awarded to students with a concentration and career interest working with or for the benefit of children.

Doris Boothby Scholarship Fund -- Named in honor of Doris Boothby, a former faculty member in the natural sciences, this scholarship is awarded to students of merit in need of financial assistance.

Grace Runnion Endowed Scholarship Fund -- This scholarship for adult baccalaureate students is designed to facilitate self-development or a contribution to the areas of women's psychology, art, or spirituality.

Hollis and Catherine Gerrish Endowed Scholarship Fund -- A long standing trustee, Hollis Gerrish and his wife Catherine, established this fund in 1987. This scholarship is awarded to a promising student who aspires to work with young children and is committed to children's education.

Math/Science Scholarship -- awarded annually to deserving students with a focus on math or science.

William McConnell Scholarship Fund -- William C. McConnell Jr., former trustee and Chair of the Lesley Corporation, established this endowed scholarship fund for deserving students who otherwise could not attend Lesley.
