CAREER COUNSELINGCareer counseling is available to Lesley University degree candidates and alumni.
What is career counseling?Career counseling provides support, information, and guidance to students and alumni at many different points in their careers. Through individual meetings, one-half hour or one hour in length, career counselors assist clients through the career development process. Why would I see a career counselor?Career counseling can be of assistance for a wide range of career-related issues and concerns, including:
When do I see a career counselor? It varies. Some students come to the CRC as soon as they enroll at Lesley for early assistance in career planning. Others come to look for internships, jobs or other employment opportunities. Still others come when they finish their academic programs. Alumni return to Lesley to take advantage of career counseling services 1, 5, 10 or even 20 years after graduation. How do I schedule a career counseling appointment?Alice Diamond, Alison Angell, and Francis Alix are available for career counseling appointments with Lesley students and alumni. Alumni who graduated from Lesley more than one year ago are limited to three appointments per year. Between January and April, alumni are limited to half-hour appointments, due to the high volume of appointments with current students. You can request any of the three counselors at the time you call for an appointment, or simply request the next available appointment. To make an appointment for career counseling, call the CRC at (617) 349-8550. Appointments cannot be scheduled via email. The waiting time may be several weeks in the spring and summer. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please call at least 48 hours before your appointment time. This allows time for your slot to be given to another client. You can call (617) 349-8550 24 hours a day and leave a message if you need to cancel. You will need to call back during our office hours to reschedule an appointment. No-shows: Your career counseling privileges may be revoked if you fail to keep a scheduled appointment time twice. updated 11/21/07 | 10:16 AM
