What the Student-Athlete Academic Coordinator Does:

Lesley University Athletics is committed to ensuring student-athletes meet University and NCAA standards toward degree completion. Through the office of the Student-Athlete Academic Coordinator, we monitor and encourage student-athletes to excel in the classroom with the collaborative help of their faculty advisors and the Dean's offices of Lesley College and The Art Institute of Boston. In cooperation with the Academic Achievement Center we encourage student-athletes to utilize the tutoring and support services provided to all students as well as attend study hall. Balancing academics and athletics often requires traveling to competition sites around New England, student-athletes are required to fill out Conflict forms and speak to professors early in the semester to ensure academic progress. The Student-Athlete Academic Coordinator is also charged with the celebration of National Student-Athlete Day, presentation of the Lesley University Team Scholar-Athlete Award and nominating student-athletes for Academic Awards through outside athletic associations.
