women's volleyballHead Coach Elizabeth MorrisCoach Morris graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Boston in 1997 with a degree in Sociology and Criminal Justice, and a minor in Political Science. Coach Morris, a very talented player, could not shake the volleyball bug and immediately started her coaching career upon graduation. Coach Morris coached at her Alma Mata for two years and was named the Little East Coach of the Year in 1999. She guided U-Mass to one of the best records in the program’s history. From her time at U-Mass she also helped produce a Little East Rookie of the Year and two Little East MCP Players. Coach Morris left U-Mass to go coach at Mount Alvernia High School and brought her success and enthusiasm with her. At Mount Alvernia led her team to their first ever Catholic Conference Championship Title. In 2003 she returned back to college to be an assistant coach at Tufts University. In 2006 Coach Morris returned to being a head coach and went back to high school where she coached at Norwood High School. Coach Morris becomes just the second women’s volleyball coach at Lesley University. Coach Morris commented on her hire. “I am very honored and excited to come on board as the head women’s volleyball coach. The team has been on a positive upward climb every season for the past five years and I think the team is on the verge of being an elite team in the NAC.”
Assistant Coach Denise HamiltonDenise Hamilton begins her first season with the Lesley University women’s volleyball team with extensive coaching experience. Since graduation, Denise coached softball, lacrosse, and tennis for three years in Holland, Michigan before moving to Boston to begin her career in Health and Human Services. Upon moving to Boston, Hamilton coached lacrosse and tennis at Pine Manor College and consulted the Weymouth High School softball pitchers. Over the last few years, Coach Hamilton has utilized her Masters in Social Work (LICSW) by consulting various teams to enhance teamwork, to turn around losing seasons, and to create a winning attitude. “I am excited to join Coach Morris and the women’s volleyball team to build a winning tradition at Lesley,” comments Hamilton. Denise currently works as the Director of Marketing and Admissions at The Italian Home For Children.
