Head Coach Paul Vasconcelos

Paul Vasconcelos came on board as the new women’s head soccer coach at Lesley University in 2007. In just his first year, the womens’ program at Lesley has made a remarkable turn around, improving to 14-4-1 in the 2007 season and getting into the record books as the NCAA all-time most improved Div III program in the country. As a result Vasconcelos was selected as the 2007 North Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year.

In 2002 he was appointed the Assistant Coach at Milton Academy where he stayed on for just one season, before leaving to become the Assistant Soccer Coach at Emerson College. At Emerson he helped lead the Lions to their best record in the programs history in just his first year. He stayed at Emerson for 3 seasons leading the Lions to two straight GNAC Conference semi-finals.

In 2004 he was hired as a full time staff coach at South Coast Scorpions a premier girls club based out of Braintree, in his time there he trained some of the top female players in the state. A member of the US Soccer Coaches Organization and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, Vasconcelos holds the USSF National C License, KNVB Dutch Advanced License and NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma along with a few international licenses. He has recently been hired as the Massachusetts ODP State U14 assistant girls coach. Currently he is the Director of Coaching at Eastern Mass FC, a premier youth club based out of Canton, Massachusetts. Coach Vasconcelos is also a member of the NCAA Div III New England Regional Advisory Committee.

Coach Vasconcelos commented on his opportunity with the women’s program, “my staff and I are very excited about this new challenge and have already started aggressively recruiting top players to come in and make an immediate impact to the program. We look to be one of the top programs in the NECC for years to come.”

Assistant Coach Bobby Desilets

Bobby Desilets joins the Lesley University women's soccer program as the new assistant coach starting in the Fall of 2008.  Coach Desilets brings solid coaching and playing experience to a team that will look to take the next step towards winning a conference championship.

Coach Desilets spent the last year as the assistant coach at Matignon High School.  He was also the Head Coach of the premier Eastern Massachusetts FC U15 boys team.

A graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, ME, Desilets earned his Bachelors degree in Economics and History.  He attended the school from 2001-2005 and played all four years on the men's soccer team.  Desilets thrived while playing for the Polar Bears, earning an All-New England Selection in 2004.  He currently ranks third all-time for career assists at Bowdoin College.  In his high school days at Bishop Hendricken High School he was honored with a 2001 All-State Selection.

The Lynx are excited about the experience that Coach Desilets brings to the team.  As Lesley moves to the New England Collegiate Conference starting in the Fall of 2008, Coach Desilets will be a major factor in winning the conference championship.
