Parking Regulations

The University controls approximately 325 parking spaces in Cambridge and Boston.

Parking at Lesley University is subject to parking permit regulations. Lesley University Department of Public Safety officers are empowered to enforce parking regulations and issue citations. The endorsement of a parking permit application is consent to:

  • Uphold Lesley's parking policies, permit rights, and responsibilities.
  • Follow all Department of Public Safety parking procedures.
  • Pay promptly any amount due the University for fees, fines or other expenses for violation of regulations.
The following policies apply to all who park at Lesley University:
  • Parking permits must be displayed at all times.
  • Only those Lesley community members and guests with the appropriate parking permits are authorized to park on Lesley property.
  • Parking regulations prevail at all times, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • All unauthorized vehicles will be ticketed and/or towed at the operator and or owner's expense.
  • All vehicles parking on Lesley property must possess both a license plate and registration sticker or be considered abandoned and will be removed.
  • During snow emergencies all vehicles must be moved from the lots for snow removal.
  • The University assumes no responsibility for damages to any vehicle or its contents while parked on Lesley property.
  • The resale or redistribution of your parking permit is strictly prohibited. The penalty for this offense is loss of your parking privileges for one year.
  • Lost parking permits must be reported to the Public Safety Office, there is a $5 replacement fee (stolen permits reported to the police are free). Once the permit holder reports the lost hangtag it becomes invalid.
  • Pay promptly any amount due the University for fines, fees, or expenses in violation of the policies by vehicles owned or operated by the permit holder.
  • Parking permits will not be pro-rated except upon cancellation.
  • On Weekends and Holidays all students, faculty, and staff with a valid parking permit will be able to park in the University lots as space permits.

Parking Notice/Update

The development of the Lesley Card access control system enables us to utilize Lesley Card swipe access to Parking Lot C on the Quad Campus. Use of the access control system will provide better parking control to enhance spaces availability in Lot C to permitted weekday evening parkers.

Effective: Monday, Feburary 23, 2009:

The gate to Lot C on Oxford Street will no longer be raised at 3:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Permitted evening commuter students, and adjunct faculty permitted this semester to park evenings and weekends in Lot C will be provided gate reader swipe access on their Lesley Cards (ID's), effective February 23, Monday to Thursday from 3:30 to 9:00 p.m. To facilitate authorized visitor weekend parking  on Lesley's Quad Campus, the gate will be lifted on Friday's at 3:30 p.m. and will be lowered on Sunday's at 8:00 p.m.

Parking Cancellations

Permit holders are responsible for all fees associated with the cancellation of a parking permit. Hangtags and any access card must be returned to the Public Safety Office. Pro-rated refunds are determined from the date Public Safety receives the permit and access card, not the date of verbal or written notification.

Lesley University Public Safety is not responsible for any hangtags/access cards lost in the mail.

If notification is not given by employees using the payroll deduction option for permit fees, charges will accrue until the permit expires.

Tow Policy

The holder of a parking permit who fails to pay a parking fine may be subject to towing or non-renewal of his/her parking permit. If you receive a citation for illegally parking on Lesley property it is your responsibility to contact Public Safety to determine why the citation was issued. The cost for a tow is approximately $120.

Safety Policy

All community members are encouraged to use caution when walking to their vehicle in the evening hours. Public Safety escorts are available to all community members upon request.
