The Center for Reading Recovery and Literacy Collaborative at Lesley University is a designated Reading Recovery university training center.
We train Reading Recovery Teacher Leaders, who in turn train and support Reading Recovery teachers at regional training sites.
"The district has been thrilled with the progress and performance of students who have received Reading Recovery in first grade. Not only do they show amazing growth in their ability to read grade-level text, but they gain confidence and independence as learners. All of this pays dividends down the road, as many do not require continued specialized support in subsequent grades. In addition, the teachers who have been trained feel that it has impacted their teaching of all students, as they have an eye for looking at what the student CAN do and designing instruction to help the student get to the next level." – Lisa White, Ph.D., K-12 English Language Arts & Library Media, Curriculum Coordinator, Plymouth, MA Public Schools
