Parking and Transportation

Parking and Transportation

Responding to community comments and suggestions, Lesley University has engaged transportation engineers and planners at Vanasse & Associates, Inc. to conduct an initial parking study to evaluate the potential parking impacts associated with the relocation of AIB to Porter Square. As noted in the report, the proposed location of the new Art Institute is ideally situated to take advantage of the public transportation operated by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), including rapid transit subway and Cambridge's only commuter railway station. Proximity to this inter-modal transportation hub, coupled with the lively mix of uses and pedestrian-oriented street-scape, provides a significant opportunity for sustainable development based on smart growth principles.

Parking Study

The initial parking study [pdf] conducted by Vanesse & Associates was presented to the Lesley Neighborhood Working Group on February 3, 2009.
