SABBATICAL LEAVE

The Lesley University Sabbatical Leave Policy is intended to provide opportunities for individual faculty renewal which may take many forms: training or branching out into new areas of teaching or research; courses to improve technical skills; projects of intellectual renewal which will aid professional development and renewal. All full-time and pro-rated faculty who have been employed at Lesley University a minimum of six (6) years active service are eligible to apply for a sabbatical leave.

Sabbatical Deadlines 2009-2010

Action  Deadline
Candidate submits application to Academic Supervisor and School Dean September 14, 2009
Academic Supervisor makes recommendation to School Dean September 25, 2009
Formal recommendation from School Dean to Provost October 9, 2009
Candidate submits full application (hard copy and electronic abstract) to Dean of Faculty October 30, 2009
Faculty Life and Development Committee makes recommendation to Provost, informs candidate of recommendation December 11, 2009
Provost makes recommendation to the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees; Action by the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees February 11, 2010
Action by the Board of Trustees March 4, 2010
Provost informs candidate of action by Board of Trustees March 11, 2010
Sabbatical Report to the Dean of Faculty November 15, 2011
