* Please note — these focused discussions will certainly overlap in significant ways, and will help shape the afternoon's discussions.
11:30 am-12 pm: Large group discussion and sharing of themes, goals, and opportunities, Washburn Lounge
12-1:00 pm: Lunch, Washburn Lounge
* Please note — there will be some themed tables during lunch, including one focused on Rank & Promotion, one featuring eBooks and the opportunities that our Sherrill Library offers in that regard, one for people interested in learning more about our institutional partnership with publishing company Teacher Created Materials and the writing/publishing efforts that colleagues are engaged in, and one focused on Community Involvement. All are welcome to join a themed table discussion, yet there is no obligation to do so.
1-2:00 pm: * tentative -- Policies Workshop, Washburn Lounge
2-3:30 pm: Open conversations in the Sherrill classrooms: 150, 154, 251, & 350. This is an opportunity for people to speak with faculty members who were in different morning sessions. Key points will be shared and discussed as we work toward formulating some language, questions, and goals that may be built upon in future Faculty Assembly meetings and other forums.
* Please note — the Lesley College faculty have requested time for a school faculty caucus, and this time is available for that faculty discussion. One room will be made available for this purpose.
3:30-5:30 pm: Reception in Celebration of Faculty Scholarship and Collaboration, McKenna Student Center, Doble Campus
Please join colleagues and friends in honoring fellow faculty members who have contributed to a recent publication: Transforming classroom culture: Inclusive pedagogical practices. This edited text features the work of several faculty members who will be reading portions of the book while we enjoy a reception generously supported by the office of Provost Selase Williams. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing, and food and beverage will be available for all attendees. Acknowledging that many faculty will need to leave the reception in order to participate in the graduate Open House up in U-Hall, the reception is intended to nourish our minds and warm/fill our stomachs. This is the first of what we hope will be an annual event focused on the work of faculty, and highlighting the power of collaboration.
