Julie White-Patel, 2013 graduate of the Early Childhood and Creative Arts in Learning Program and current Quincy, MA, first grade teacher, was recently on the Ellen DeGeneres show after being chosen for her answers to a survey about technology needs at schools. She and her school, Parker Elementary, were selected to be featured on the show. The Ellen Show  filmed at the school, and Julie went on the program and accepted a $25,000 check from Wells Fargo to use at her school. Watch the video:

Books Created by Teachers for Teachers

Shell TCMLesley University has partnered with TCM/Shell to publish a series of hands-on resource books for teachers. The first offering was a set of books, "50 Leveled Problems," with math lessons for grades 1-6. Subsequent books cover integrating the arts into content areas and teaching with text sets, all authored by Lesley faculty members. See the Shell Education/Lesley webpage for more information.
