What should I do if I am sexually assaulted?
Get away from your attacker and go to a safe place as soon as possible. Call 911 or Campus Safety.
Seek medical attention to assess and treat any injuries, screen for pregnancy and any sexually transmitted infections, and collect evidence (if you consent to do so).
Seek support: Sexual assault is never the survivor's fault. It takes strength, courage, and time to survive and heal. Don't be afraid to ask for help and support; feelings of shame, guilt, fear, and shock are normal. Call a trusted friend or family member or contact one of the on- and off-campus resources. You may seek assistance from the Title IX Coordinator, faculty, staff, Resident Directors, Community Advisors, Associate Deans, Deans, Executive Assistant to the Dean for Student Life, and Director of Human Resources.

What should I do if I want the sexual misconduct to remain confidential?If you wish the details of an incident to remain completely confidential, you may speak with Lesley Counseling Center professional staff. If you request strict confidentiality, you may diminish the University's ability to investigate and respond effectively to the report.
Sexual Misconduct Confidential Reporting Resources:
*Examples of Interim Measures include: Shielding a student from on-going contact; issuing a no-contact order; changing housing assignments, et cetera. Interim measures pending a University investigation do not preclude formal discipline.
**Complete Confidentiality: Except in rare circumstances, nothing will be shared without explicit permission.
***Mostly Confidential: These conversations are kept as private as possible, but some information about incidents of sexual misconduct must be shared with the Title IX Coordinator so action can be taken, if necessary, for reasons of safety and compliance with Title IX. In some cases, information may be shared on an anonymous basis, without identifying the persons involved. In planning any response, the wishes of the person reporting an incident are given consideration.
What should I do if I want to pursue a University investigation?When Lesley receives a complaint, the institution is obligated by law to investigate the matter, and will promptly, thoroughly, and impartially investigate complaints in a fair and expeditious manner. Lesley investigates to determine what happened and then take appropriate steps to resolve the situation. What should I do if I want to report the sexual misconduct to local law enforcement?Reports of discrimination, harassment, and sexual violence my be made to the Cambridge Police Department or the Boston Police Department by calling 911.
