Doctoral Programs
Lesley University offers doctoral studies in Educational Studies and Expressive Therapies.
Through its Ph.D. Programs in Educational Studies, the Lesley University School of Education offers three 45-credit Educational Studies specialization programs designed for students who wish to pursue advanced study and scholarship. Educational Studies is defined at Lesley University as an interdisciplinary area of inquiry that includes the examination of the individual and social processes of learning and teaching in institutional and social contexts. Study also involves integrating the study of cognition, learning, and human development with the study of institutions, organizations, and cultures. The three program specializations are: Individually Designed; Adult Learning; and Educational Leadership.
The Ph.D. Program in Expressive Therapies, administered through the Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, prepares students to be skilled educators, researchers, practitioners, and supervisors who will continue to lead the field by contributing scholarly research. The Ph.D. Program in Expressive Therapies values the nexus of theory and practice, encourages interdisciplinary study through an emphasis on the therapeutic uses of the combined arts, and maximizes the opportunity for individually designed study structured by the student under the supervision of a senior faculty advisor.
