Student Status policy: “Students, in the doctoral program, who register for six or fewer credits per semester, are considered half time. Payment of the matriculation or continuation fee also entitles students to half-time status.” Teaching FellowshipsIn recognition of the importance of the art of teaching and in recognition of the knowledge and skills that doctoral students can offer the University community, Lesley offers Teaching Fellowships that supplement the adjunct teaching salary. Awards are made annually. Fellows receive approximately $1,600. All students are eligible for a teaching fellowship after their first year in the doctoral program. Recipients of a fellowship will be expected to teach one 3-credit course as an adjunct faculty member. Fellowships have also been used by doctoral students who have a contract to tutor in the Students who do not have University teaching experience but wish to gain experience may apply for a teaching fellowship to cover the cost of registering for EEDUC 7713 - Internship in College Teaching. In this course, students arrange to serve as a supervised teaching assistant in a course taught by a supervising Lesley faculty member. Research FellowshipsThe intent of the research fellowship is to support students doing research and/or gaining knowledge and skills to do research. Awards are made annually ranging from $250-$3,000. We have three separate applications: 1) Funds for general research support. 2) Funds to “seed” research opportunities within the Lesley research community, and 3) funds to support travel to professional meetings. Our expectation is that these awards will be given both to support a doctoral student's research and/or for development of her/his research skills by assisting faculty members in their research.
