Technology in Education Online Classes


ADVISING INFORMATION:

Dr. Maureen Yoder is the Faculty Advisor to students in the Online Technology in Education Program. She is the primary contact person for academic issues such as transfer of credits, course content, instructor communications, and grading issues.

Mike Matvichuk is the Director of Online Student Services. He is the primary contact person for registration and other administrative issues for students taking online classes.

REGISTRATION:

Walk-in/mail-in registration for is available for all students.
WebReg is available to all on-campus and online students with Lesley online information service (LOIS) accounts.
Registration dates and other important dates are listed on the Academic Calendar.

To ensure the most current information on course offerings for the semester you intend to register, please refer to Lesley's online information system (LOIS). Please take note of the following step-by-step directions, before clicking on the link provided below to access the course listings in LOIS.

Course dates can be found in the LOIS results below. You may also refer to this Online Semester Schedule for dates of upcoming semesters for all online programs.

  1. Click on the following link: www.lesley.edu/lois
  2. Click on yellow box "Current Course Information"
  3. Under Term: Click the drop down window and select the term you are looking to register for Classes.
    (FA=fall, SP=spring, U1=summer)
  4. Under Discipline: Click the field you are interested in
    (Technology, Mathematics, Science, Management, Education)
  5. Under Location: select "ZZ –Distance Learning"
    (Note: leave all other drop-down menus blank!)
  6. Click submit
    (All courses under the discipline you selected will be listed)

Detailed course information, such as course description, dates, instructor, and fees, can be viewed by clicking on the course title.

If you wish to view all online classes skip step 4 in the above directions.

TUITION:

Tuition for online courses is $480 per credit. The technology fee is $30 per course, which covers miscellaneous technology costs that support the delivery of the online courses. There is a $30 one time per semester registration fee. All online courses are three credits.

  • One course: 3 credits x $480= $1440 + $30 (Registration Fee) + $30 (Technology Fee)

 

BILLING INFORMATION:

For additional information or to update your billing address, call 617.349.8760, send an email to Student Accounts or visit our Web site to download the change of address form.

Payments can be made with a check, a credit card number, or documentation of your financial aid. Students can enroll in a Tuition Management Systems (TMS).

SUGGESTED ORDER OF COURSES:

We suggest that students starting the online program in Technology in Education with two courses to take ECOMP 5100 and ECOMP 6008. Students currently taking ECOMP 5100 and ECOMP 6008 should continue on with ECOMP 7100 and ECOMP 6016. Please refer to your appropriate Program of Study.

All of the required courses, and a selection of electives, are offered each semester.

ATTENDANCE:

The online courses are asynchronous. They do not have scheduled class sessions at specific times. However, they are not completely self-paced and are not independent studies. You will need to check your email and log onto the class Web site several times a week. It is possible to travel and keep up with an online class, but if you know that you are not going to be online for more than five days, please email the instructor of the class and Maureen Yoder, BEFORE you register, and we will help you decide if it is advisable for you to take the class.

Students from Cohort Group Programs:

Please note: Online courses are primarily offered to students who have been accepted into the Technology in Education Online Degree program. Students who are enrolled in a weekend format Technology in Education program, have missed a class and want to make it up online, must first get prior approval from their program advisor. These students should email Dan Tobin or phone him at (617) 349-8343 for the necessary permission and further instructions.

Registration Directions for non-Web-reg: Mail-In Registration

STEP ONE: Fill out the registration form. [pdf]
Make sure that the course name(s), section number(s), and payment are correct. If there is an error on the form, it may be returned to you, possibly causing you to miss out on the course(s) of your choice, so please take your time and fill out your registration carefully.

STEP TWO: Pay the tuition.
Payment can be with a check, a credit card number, or documentation of your financial aid. See cost information above.

STEP THREE: Mail or fax the registration form.
Registrations may be faxed to the registrar at 617-349-8717 or may be mailed directly to the Registrar's office using the following address:

Students who live outside of the United States can fax their registrations to the Registrar if they can pay by credit card or with Financial Aid. The fax number is (617) 349-8717.

You should assume that you are in the class(es) unless you hear otherwise within a week of when your form is received. You should hear from the instructor(s) on or before the first day of class. If you would like to verify your registration you can call the Registrar at (800) 999-1959 ext. 8740.

Tuition Refunds

The tuition refund schedule is used to determine the portion of tuition that will be refunded, depending upon the date that a student drops/withdraws from a course or from the University.

Course registration and other fees are non-refundable.
Retroactive withdrawals or refunds are not allowed.
The Federal refund policy for Lesley students receiving financial aid varies.

Graduation

If you are taking your last classes and want to find out about commencement, make sure that you file your Declaration of Intent to Graduate.
