Degree Overview
The Master of Science in Ecological Teaching and Learning (ETL) is an 18-month distance learning program that includes two summer residencies. The program is ideal for educators working in a variety of settings including:
- Schools
- Museums
- Nature centers
The graduate degree program starts with a 3 week summer field experience in a wilderness setting. During the fall and spring semesters, participants take online courses while using their places of work as practicum settings. Each semester students meet for a three-day intensive session.
The program ends with a fall practicum. Students create a self-designed project demonstrating mastery of ecological principles.
Licensure
This program is approved for Elementary Science Professional Licensure in Massachusetts and may satisfy education certification requirements in other states.
