POETRY READINGS CONTINUE

Where We Grow From" is the theme of the upcom- ing Poetry Events At Lesley (P.E.A.L.) presentation, featuring Myra Shapiro and Lesley faculty member Beverlyjean Smith. The readings are scheduled for Wednesday, March 19, 5:30 p.m., in Porter 308.

Shapiro is the author of "I'll See You Thursday," a book of poems. Her poems are described as "lively and accessible, full with family and free spirit, humor and honesty, and a quirky turn of the mind to the woes and wonders of the world."

Smith's poetry has appeared in Sojourner magazine and "An Ear to the Ground: Anthology of Contemporary American Poetry." She has given many poetry readings in the greater Boston area, including the Museum of Fine Arts and the Newton Arts Center. Smith has also been an Urban Poet-in-Residence, and received poetry grants from the Brookline Foundation and the Arts Council.
