  • WOMEN'S BAR ASSOCIATION TO
    HONOR PRESIDENT MCKENNA

President Margaret McKenna is to be one of two honorees at the Women's Bar Assocation (WBA) of Massachusetts Seventh Annual Gala at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel on Thursday, November 21. At the gala each year, the WBA honors women who have made significant achievements in law and business by presenting them with the Lelia J. Robinson Award, named for the first woman admitted to the Bar of Massachusetts. These women are selected for breaking barriers for women in the legal profession. President McKenna is being awarded for her career-long impact in the areas of civil rights, affirmative action, and promotion of education. She is the first college president and the first non-practicing attorney to win this prestigious award from among a pool of more than 100 distinguished nominees.

Kerry Kennedy Cuomo, a prominent human rights activist, will be the keynote speaker. United States Attorney General Janet Reno is anticipated to be among the 500 prominent guests at this special event.
