FACULTY/STAFF NOTES

Alison Angell, associate director of the Career Resource Center, presented "Career Counseling for Survivors of Childhood Trauma: Issues and Strategies" at the American Counseling Association National Conference in Pittsburgh in April.

Cindy Brown received the rank of assistant professor in July, teaching in the Adult Baccalaureate College, the School of Education and School of Management. Brown also continues to work as institutional research coordinator.

Bard Hamlen has been named the associate dean for the Adult Baccalaureate College, after having served for a year in an interim capacity.

George E. Hein, professor, Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, returned to Lesley after spending the spring semester of a year-long sabbatical in London, sponsored in part by a grant from the National Science Foundation. While in England, Hein gave lectures, workshops and seminars at museums and universities in London, Leicester, and Liverpool. He also lectured and gave a three-day workshop, "Museum Visitor Evaluation and Museum Learning" at the University of Oslo, Norway, in April.

Solange de Azambuja Lira, associate professor in the School of Education and director of the Learning Center, published an essay, "The `Other' Before Me: A Bicultural Dialogue," with Arnold Gordenstein. The essay appears in the book "Reflections on Multiculturalism," edited by R. Eddy (Intercultural Press).

Susan Spaniol, assistant professor, Graduate School of Arts and Social Sciences, was appointed to associate in psychiatry at Harvard University.
