GEARING UP FOR THE GAMES

Lesley is adding basketball to its slate of fall athletics, which will also include crew, cross-country, soccer and tennis.The sports are open to all undergraduates, adult baccalaureate students and some graduate students who meet certain guidelines.All interested participants should contact Paula O'Gilvie, the athletic director, at 349-8498.

This year, the athletics program will look to last year's Most Valuable Players to lead the way -- Kim Sweeney in soccer, Amanda Osborne in tennis, Sarah Blanchard in crew, and Sarah Toste in cross-country.All of the coaches are looking forward to getting the season underway, and invite the entire Lesley community to attend any of the teams' matches.

The crew team will compete in regattas all over New England, and cross country will race in invitationals in the northeast region of Massachusetts.Soccer home contests will be played at the Cambridge Friends School and tennis home matches will again be played at Bunker Hill Community College.See the athletics schedule for a complete listing of scheduled games and locations.
