Lesley University Ranked Among "Best Master's Programs in the North" by U.S. News & World Report
Lesley College and Art Institute of Boston Among "The Best Northeastern Colleges"
in Princeton Review College Guide
Cambridge, MA -- Lesley University was recently ranked 51 for "Best Master's Programs in the North" in the U.S. News & World Report's 2008 Edition of America's Best Colleges. Lesley College and the Art Institute of Boston, the University’s two undergraduate schools, were both named among "The Best Northeastern Colleges" in the 2008 Princeton Review College Guide.
Both listings serve as an important reference for those deciding on which college to attend. The U.S. News & World Report's list categorizes schools by mission and region. There are seven categories used to denote academic quality, including: peer assessment, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, graduation rate performance, and alumni giving. The Princeton Review surveyed 58,000 students at the 222 colleges in this edition of the book (about 250 per campus). The 80-question survey asked students to rate their schools on issues ranging from the teaching ability of their professors to their opinion of the campus food -- and answer questions about themselves, their fellow students, and their campus life.
"It's always gratifying when Lesley's success in meeting its commitment to students is recognized externally," said Lesley University President Dr. Joseph B. Moore. "While continuing to grow and evolve, we've remained firmly grounded in a strong mission of public service, and preparing men and women for careers that truly make a difference in the lives of others."
