FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE7/20/05 DONALD M. PERRIN ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF LESLEY UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEESCambridge, MA -- Lesley University's Board of Trustees has named Donald M. Perrin as their new Chairman effective July 1, 2005. Perrin, Principal of Cambridge Business Advisors, replaces Richard A. Jalkut, who stepped down from his role as Chair after serving for two consecutive terms. Jalkut, President and CEO of Telepacific Communications, plans to remain an active member of the Board. Perrin has been a member of Lesley's Board of Trustees since 1999, having served on the Art Institute of Boston's Board of Overseers when AIB merged with the University. “Don Perrin has been a defining presence on the Lesley Board since his first involvement during the merger process with the Art Institute of Boston. His election as Chairman comes during a time of exciting growth and innovation at the institution, which has already benefited from his expertise and guidance on capital planning,” said Lesley University President Margaret A. McKenna. “As Chair, his wisdom, skills, and dedication will be put to even greater use on behalf of Lesley's continued dynamism and educational leadership.” “Lesley University is managing an extraordinary evolution in terms of facilities and long-term planning as well as the transformation of the undergraduate college into a co-ed program with a range of compelling new offerings,” said Perrin. “The changes are as exciting as they are strongly rooted in the University's enduring mission and values: to educate people for careers and lives that make a difference and promote positive change in society. I'm privileged to be playing an integral role in moving that mission forward.” Perrin, formerly Vice Chair of the Lesley Board of Trustees, chairs the Trustee Campus Planning and Property Management Committee, serves on various Trustee Committees, and is an Overseer of the Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University. He is on the Board of Trustees of The Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary and is an Honorary Trustee of Temple Israel Boston.
